Resin, resin, resin!

So, after being submerged in the world of chunky bead necklaces for a little while, I began to see all these cute little creations floating around of stickers and glitter and rhinestones, and I started to ask myself - how hard can it be?! These seemed like the perfect options to liven up our necklaces by giving them the option of a little pendant, and so with a little research and fingers crossed - we jumped in feet first!

Now, resin isn't as easy as I thought it might be, but it's also not as hard. It's time consuming, that's for sure - and for someone who doesn't have the most time right now (thank you, last semester of college!), it kind of puts a tiny damper on the process. However... It's also so, so relaxing to be doing something in a different medium where you have to pay attention and tweak things as you go. And it's also pretty fun to find the cutest stickers and try to create little scenes within a small space - and, of course, there's glitter. Who doesn't love glitter?!

Anyhow. Our first resin pour (and the two I've done since) have been eye opening lessons on how to make things go even more smoothly. Luckily for me, I also found a great community of crafters who are willing to help out their fellow newbie crafter with some tips of the trade. Without further adieu, I give you the first batch of poured resins!

Stay tuned for more resins, October's first Rockin' Resin project, and our first round of diffuser clay necklaces later this week! Oh - and costumes, coming soon!

Have a great Sunday!
-A.
